The Fountain Lake Baseball Team had their season opener with ESTEM at Burns Park in North Little Rock on February 27, 2023. The shut-out game ended with a score of 12-0. Wesley Campbell threw a perfect game with 17 strikeouts in 6 innings pitched. Wesley was also 2-4 at the plate with 1 home run and 3 RBIs. Abe Rose was 2-4 at the plate with 1 single and 1 double. Coach Justin McArthur said, “We pitched lights out and played perfect defense. Obviously, you don’t see perfect games come along very often. Wesley Campbell had an outstanding individual performance on the mound and at the plate. Abe Rose also did a great job of receiving at the catcher position. I thought we could’ve hit the ball better overall, but for the first ball game, we played very well and we’ll take the win.” The Fountain Lake Player of the Game was Wesley Campbell.
