Fountain Lake Senior High Football traveled to Cutter Morning Star for the “Battle of the Gorge” on October 21, 2022. “The guys played a great first half and enacted the sportsmanship mercy rule to begin the second half. It was fun seeing an offensive lineman (Nick Brey) get the chance to run the ball and score a touchdown as well,” reflected Coach Kenneth Shelton. Some of the highlighted statistics from the game are as follows: Destyn Fields was 7 of 10 in passing for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns. Juan Diggs had 4 carries for 103 yards, 2 touchdowns, 6 receptions for 162 yards and 2 more touchdowns. Evan East had 9 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, returned 100 yards for a touchdown, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for loss. Abe Rose had 9 tackles, 3 pass breakups and 1 interception. Jaron Adams had 7 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 sack, and 1 tackle for loss. Juan Diggs also had 4 tackles, 2 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.
