The Senior High Girls Basketball Team hosted Pottsville on January 5, 2023. The following are stats from the game: First Quarter 10-17, Second Quarter 21-30, Third Quarter 32-41, with a final score of 36-51. Though the game ended with a loss for the Lady Cobras, Coach Matt Carter said, “I thought the girls tried hard and played really well in the second and third quarters after getting off to a slow start. Paige Davis scored well tonight and did a nice job of penetrating their zone in the first half to help keep us in the game. I thought Lainey Mungle had a good game defensively, and Mary Drakes did well after returning from an Injury that has had her sidelined for more than a month.  Moving forward there are a few areas we have got to improve in order to give ourselves a better opportunity to win games.” The leading scorers for the game were Paige Davis with 17 points, Mary Drakes with 8 points, and Lainey Mungle with 5 points. The Fountain Lake Players of the Game were Paige Davis with 17 points and Lainey Mungle with her defensive efforts.
