The Fountain Lake Senior High Girls Basketball Team traveled to Pottsville for their latest game. The Lady Cobras got off to a great start and led 16-10 after the first quarter. Pottsville outscored Fountain Lake 19-11 in the second quarter to take a 29-27 halftime lead ultimately leading to a 57-49 win. Coach Matt Carter said, “I was proud of the girls despite the loss. I thought we played with grit and toughness on defense and had well-rounded contributions from multiple players on offense. I feel like if we can give that type of effort more consistently, we will start winning some games.” The leading scorers for the game were Karlie Craver with 12 points, Kara Martin with 11 points, Mary Drakes with 9 points, and Emma Riley with 8 points. The Fountain Lake Player of the Game was Karlie Craver who hit four three-pointers for her 12 points in the game. Don’t miss the next game against Clarksville on February 8, 2023.
