Fountain Lakes Golf Teams were back in action on Monday, August 22, 2022 as they hosted Mena and Dardanelle at Magellan Golf Course. The Boy’s Varsity Team ended the match with a score of 113 as Kolt Carden (36), Coil Burks (36), Carson McCoy (41) led the team. Mena’s Rhett Brotherton led with a score of 40. Fountain Lake’s Junior Varsity Boys finished with 127 points led by Treyton Gray (41) and Cole Thomas (42). Leading the Dardanelle Boy’s team was Restin Robinson with a score of 43. Fountain Lake’s Girls’ Team came up a bit short to Dardanelle’s 161 points led by Kayleigh Tidwell (52). Fountain Lake’s Jaylen Cameron completed the match with a score of 55 points while Mena’s Carmindy Ashcraft ended with 65 points. Coach Michael Blees stated, “I’ve got a great bunch of players; it is so much fun watching these young players develop their skills.” Fountain Lake’s Players Of The Week are Coil Burks and Kolt Carden. The Cobras took the Varsity match with a team score of 116 to 128 Dillon Dettmerring finished as medalist for the Cobras with a round of 38. Teammates Kolt Carden and Coil Burks finished with rounds of 39. Carson McCoy finished with a 42. Pottsville was led by Wesley as rigging with a 41. Fountain Lake hosted Benton, El Dorado, and Lakeside at Diamanté' Country Club in Hot Springs Village. The host Cobras took the boys match with a team score of 312. El Dorado finished second with a 313. Benton shot 322 and Lakeside finished with a 329. Kolt Carden led the Cobras with a round of 69. Teammates Coil Burks (78), Dillon Dettmerring (80), Treyton Gray(85) rounded out the scoring. JB Elia from El Dorado finished as Co-medalist with Lakesides Will Gordon with rounds of 68. Fountain Lake hosted Clarksville on Tuesday afternoon in an 18 hole golf match at Magellan Golf Course in Hot Springs Village. Fountain Lake defeated Clarksville in the boys match by a score of 234 to 272. Medalist Coil Burks of Fountain Lake shot a round of 76. Teammates Carson McCoy and Kolt Carden finished with round of 79. Clarksville was led by Grayson Freeman with a 89. Teammates Briley Reeder (90) and Braxton Payne(93) rounded out the scoring In girls action, Clarksville’s Madison Pennington finished as medalist with a round of 92. The Fountain Lake Athletic Dept. will host a mandatory parent meeting for parents of all athletes grades 7-12 on Thursday August 11, 2022 from 6:30-7:00 in the school auditorium. This meeting is required by the Arkansas Activities Association to discuss Heat, Heat Illness, concussions, communicable disease, MRSA, Cardiac Arrest, and the protocols for handling them. The Cobra Health Center staff and the Fountain Lake coaching staff will be on hand to discuss this information and to answer any questions parents may have. There will be forms for parents and athletes to complete and turn in to the coaching staff after the meeting. Athletes must complete the forms in order to participate in athletics for the 2022-2023 school year. Look forward to seeing you Thursday. Go Cobras!

Cobra Golfers Carson McCoy and Jaylen Cameron have spent the summer working on their golf game along with several other Fountain Lake student athletes through the Jr. Golf Program in Hot Springs Village. The Jr. Golf Program concluded this past week with their annual 2 day tournament on July 27 and 28. Both Carson and Jaylen won their flights for the 2 day event. We are proud of Carson and Jaylen and all of those Cobra golfers who participated in the Jr. Golf Program this summer. Great Job Carson and Jaylen and Go Cobras.

Fountain Lake golf hosted Lake Hamilton at Magellan Golf Course in Hot Springs Village. The Cobras defeated the wolves in the men's 18 hole match 229-263. Kolt Carden was medalist with a score of 71. Carson McCoy and Dillon Dettmering finished the team scoring both with rounds of 79. In Girls action, Jaylen Cameron finished as medalist for the Lady Cobras with a 9 hole score of 47. Jaylen also went on to complete an 18 hole round and recorded a person best of 86, scoring a 39 for 9 holes on the back 9. Fountain Lake Jr and Sr Football will be hosting the first annual Cobra Football Media Day Friday August 12th Starting at 6:00 pm. This will be a fun and exciting event for everyone! Please come out and support Cobra Football, we look forward to seeing you there. Go Cobras! Below is a schedule of events for the evening: 6:00-6:10: Welcome, by Head Football Coach Kenny Shelton. Introduction of Coaches and pass out football schedules, followed by Prayer for football season, by Coach Davis. 6:10-7:10: Football tire throw competition for kids and Pee wee punt, pass, and kick competition by grade level. 6:10-6:25: 7th grade jersey selection. High school/7th grade mentor/player selection. Each high school player will provide a drink and a snack on game days for their player along with being their mentor for the season/provide support at games. Pass out jerseys grades 8-12. (Shelton, McArthur) 6:25-7:20: Individual pictures in field house and family pictures on the field for those that pay via game face photography. 7:20-7:35: Dads vs sons Jr. High touch football game. The 5th Grade Pee Wee Football team will be having a car wash Saturday Morning, July 6th in front of the Middle School in the Middle School Parking lot. The car wash will start at 8:00 am and will run until around 1:00 pm. Funds raised from the car wash will help purchase uniforms for the team. Please come out to support, and Go Cobras!

After two successful weeks of Team Camp at Lake Hamilton and Fountain Lake, Campers Karli Craver, Paige Davis, and Mary Drakes look to continue their player development as they participated in the Arkansas Tech University skills camp. These three players along with the remainder of the Jr. and Sr. Girls basketball players have been putting in a lot of hard work since the end of basketball season to become better athletes and skilled basketball players. I am proud of all of our players and look forward to a great 2022-2023 basketball season. Go Lady Cobras!

Pee Wee football Sign ups for 5th and 6th grade will be held Wednesday June 15 at the Football field from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Also, any 3rd or 4th grade students who did not get to sign up on Monday may come on Wednesday to sign up. There will be a $25 registration fee.
