
Hello Juniors:
We will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT Test at the end of October. This is the test you take to compete for the National Merit Scholarship .
If you want to compete by testing, email Mrs. Keys at ckeys@flcobras.com. Juniors are charged $18 payable the day of testing, unless you qualify for Free and Reduced Lunches. You must respond by the end of the day Tuesday, August 29th if you intend to test.

2023 YEARBOOKS HAVE ARRIVED!
Class of 2023, please pick up all pre-ordered yearbooks from the high school office Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.
There are a few extra copies of the 2023 yearbooks available. If you would like to reserve one please email Mrs. McAfee at smcafee@flcobras.com. High school yearbooks are $50 and elementary/middle school yearbooks are $45.


The Fountain Lake Cobras will kick off the 2023 football season Monday night with an 8th grade game @ 6:30 vs the Mt. Ida Lions Followed by our Sr. High Football Game on Friday night, September 1st vs the Mt. Pine Red Devils. We have also created two links that you can click on that will explain the parking situation for 8th grade games, Jr. high Games, Sr. High Games and Pee Wee Football Games. It details the areas where we will park buses, handicap parking, and crowd parking, along with the entrances at the North and South ends of the Stadium and the stairs behind the visitor bleachers.

Due to the excessive heat this week we will be making adjustments to the athletic schedule. The Golf matches and practices this week have been canceled and the tennis match has been rescheduled to September 11. All Pee Wee Football teams will be practicing indoors Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday this week starting at 5:30. 4th Grade will be in Saferoom A, 6th Grade will be in the PE Gym, 3rd Grade will be in Bass gym on the main floor, and 5th Grade will be in the Auxiliary gym. The Pee Wee Games for this Saturday, August 26th have been moved to an 8:00 am Start time. If there are any other developments, I will keep you posted. Stay Safe.

Just a reminder to come out this Friday night, August 18th to support our athletes, band, and cheerleaders for a night of fun at our Fall sports Festival as we begin a new school year! Thank you to Capt. Bell, Sgt. Gipson, Sgt. Shawn, Pvt. Bradford, and the US Army for providing lunch and speaking to our staff about the incredible benefits provided through enlistment.
And thank you to Capt. Bell for gifting Mr. Robertson with the Texarkana Phantom's Challenge Coin!
They'll be back for our conferences and job fairs, so be sure to visit with them about the opportunities available in the US Army!



Our yearly Athletics parent meeting will be this Thursday, August 10 in the Auditorium immediately after open house at 7:15. If you have any students who participate in athletics, you are encouraged to attend this meeting. The meeting will focus on Communication of injuries, Heat illness, Concussion, Communicable Diseases, and Sudden Cardiac arrest. Most of our Athletes received their athletic paperwork in the Spring when they got their physicals, however there are still some that have not turned their paperwork in. We will have additional paperwork available if there is anyone who has not turned it in. We look forward to seeing everyone there Thursday night.

Class of 2027, Freshmen Orientation is Tuesday, August 8th at 6 PM. Come meet our new counselor and learn what to expect in high school. Advisors will also pass out class schedules.
We are excited to meet all of the students and parents. We hope to see you there!

The Coca-Cola Scholarship application for 2023-2024 high school graduates is now open! The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. FLSD is excited to join forces with Jessieville Schools and United Way to Stuff the Bus! Come out to the HSV Walmart on Saturday 8/5 between 9am- 3pm to make a donation of school supplies that directly support our community's students. We'll see you there!


The Fountain Lake FFA Chapter has joined forces with Jessieville, Mountain Pine, Lake Hamilton, and Bismarck to host a benefit concert. Curtis Grimes, presented by Allen Tillery Auto Group, will be performing on August 19 at 7:00 pm at Lake Hamilton's Wolf Arena. Tickets are only $20 GA in advance, and $25 GA at the door. Proceeds will be used to send about 50 students to the NAtional FFA Convention in October. Tickets are available using the QR code on the attached flyer. We hope to see you there.
